What is Sugaring? - Sugaring is an ancient art of hair removal using a pliable paste made from pure sugar and natural ingredients. The technique has been handed down by middle-eastern women who still practice this method of hair removal today. The earliest references to the treatment can be found in ancient Egyptian writings called Hieroglyphics, describing how women who served the Pharaohs needed to be hairless, clean and smooth skinned. For more than a thousand years, this alternative natural method has been used, removing the entire hair as well as the bulb and leaving the skin soft, healthy and smooth for weeks. Sukar has developed both the sugar paste and strip-sugar adapted training techniques for use in a modern market, providing the most effective method of hair removal today. |

The advantages of Sukar - ‘The treatment’ is comfortable and one of the least painful ways of removing unwanted face and body hair, because the sugar paste sticks to the hair and not the skin, the hairs are pulled cleanly from the roots without bruising the surrounding area. Gentle removal slows down hair growth and re-growth is finer, more sparse and lighter in colour. Over a period of time, regular treatment results in a gradual diminishment of hair. Sukar is particularly suitable for sensitive skin types; both young and older clients can be treated safely. Those suffering from diabetes or varicose veins can be treated, as the sugaring paste is applied warm and then removed gently. Dry and dead skin cells are removed by the process, leaving the skin healthy, soft and smooth which can improve dry skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema. The
hair does not have to be long to be removed; short hair can be successfully
treated, even hair which has appeared after a few days of shaving. Sukar
sugar paste is IOO% water soluble, is easily removed from any surface
and is therefore less messy than other methods currently in use today. |
